Improvement of lipids through cholesterol reduction and HDL increase in hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia
This medicine helps lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and increases the level of good cholesterol, HDL. It can be used either in conjunction with other treatments or as an alternative for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. This medication is taken with a dietary plan and improves lipid levels, which play a crucial role in vascular health, thereby reducing the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease. Prior to treatment, it is necessary to identify any other underlying diseases and the use of medications, and decisions on administration should be based on accurate lipid test results. If taken appropriately according to the patient's health status, it can effectively improve blood lipid levels.
This medication is administered once daily, with or without food. For primary hypercholesterolemia, the dosage range is 10/10 mg to 10/80 mg daily, with an initial recommended dose of 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg per day. For patients requiring a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol (greater than 55%), an initial dose of 10/40 mg per day is recommended. After starting treatment or adjusting the dose, lipid levels should be checked at intervals of more than 2 weeks.
This medication helps to lower blood cholesterol levels and is primarily used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Before taking, there is a risk of muscle-related issues, so if muscle pain or weakness occurs, you should inform your doctor immediately. If severe muscle pain or weakness accompanies this, treatment should be discontinued, and a blood test may be necessary to check for muscle damage. This medication can affect liver function; therefore, those with liver disease or elevated liver enzyme levels must not take it, or should use it with caution. Women who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or breastfeeding should not take this medication. In rare instances, allergic reactions, skin rashes, or hives may occur, so if any such symptoms arise, consult medical personnel immediately. When taken with other medications, the risk of side effects may increase due to interactions, so be sure to inform about any medications currently being taken. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function need to be more cautious when taking this medication, and they should have regular check-ups to monitor their condition. In case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes, so treatment should be symptomatic, and liver function and muscle status should be continuously monitored. This medication is not recommended for children, and should be stored out of reach of children. Dizziness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision problems, paralysis, urination issues
