This medication is used to reduce high total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apoB, triglyceride, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels to regulate blood lipid levels. It also helps to lower cholesterol levels in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, either in combination with or as an alternative to other therapies. This drug should be administered alongside an appropriate diet, and it is important to develop a treatment plan that considers the patient's other risk factors. In patients who have experienced acute cardiovascular events, it can be used with lipid tests that can guide the initiation of treatment. To reduce the risk of vascular disease caused by dyslipidemia, this medication helps achieve effective lipid control.
