Improvement of lipids through reduction of cholesterol and increase of HDL in hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia
This medication helps lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, while assisting in increasing HDL cholesterol levels when used in conjunction with dietary therapy for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. This medication should be used alongside a dietary regimen that limits saturated fat and cholesterol intake to reduce cardiovascular disease risk. Before treatment, other causes of dyslipidemia, such as diabetes and hypothyroidism, should be ruled out and treated as necessary. Regular checks of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels are needed to manage during therapy. This medication improves blood lipid levels in dyslipidemia patients and contributes to reduced cardiovascular disease risk.
This medication is administered once daily regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, an initial dose of 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg daily is recommended. For patients requiring greater reductions in LDL cholesterol, an initial dose of 10/40 mg daily is recommended. Dose adjustments should be made after checking blood lipid levels at intervals of more than 2 weeks. For homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, the recommended dose is
