This drug is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to lower total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing HDL-cholesterol levels. It can also be administered alone or in combination with other lipid-lowering treatments in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. This drug is used alongside dietary regulation to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to dyslipidemia, considering and treating other secondary causes as well. Caution is necessary in patients with high cardiovascular risk, and monitoring and management of lipid levels are important. Overall, this drug helps effectively improve blood lipid abnormalities.
