Improvement of lipids by reducing cholesterol in hypercholesterolemia (primary, homozygous familial) and dyslipidemia and increasing HDL.
This medication helps regulate cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It particularly reduces elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, while increasing HDL cholesterol. This treatment is used as an adjunct to diet therapy, and may also be administered when other lipid-lowering treatments are ineffective. Additionally, when treating dyslipidemia, it is important to combine this therapy with a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, and to manage secondary causes such as diabetes or hypothyroidism. This medication contributes to lowering the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease and improves blood lipid abnormalities safely and effectively.
This medication should be administered once daily regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, the dosage range is 10/10mg to 10/80mg per day. A starting dose of 10/10mg or 10/20mg per day is recommended. For patients requiring a more significant reduction in LDL cholesterol (more than 55%), a starting dose of 10/40mg per day is recommended. Once treatment has started or dosage has been adjusted, cholesterol levels should be checked at intervals of no less than 2 weeks, with dosage adjusted accordingly.

Symptoms such as dizziness, muscle pain, muscle weakness, abdominal pain, nausea may occur; if these symptoms appear, consult a physician immediately. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children have not been established, and it is not recommended for use in the elderly due to the increased risk of muscle damage.
