Improvement of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia (total cholesterol, LDL-C, etc.)
This medication is used as an adjunct to diet to reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, and to increase HDL cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also administered as a treatment that can be used in conjunction with or as an alternative to other lipid-lowering therapies in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. In patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia, it is appropriately used in conjunction with dietary therapy, especially when there is inadequate response to diet. Before administration, it is necessary to identify other causes of dyslipidemia and to carry out necessary tests to accurately assess lipid levels. This medication helps lower the cardiovascular disease risk and improve lipid levels.
This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, a starting dose of 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg once daily is recommended, and patients requiring greater reduction in LDL cholesterol may be given 10/40 mg once daily. After starting administration or adjusting the dose, check blood lipid levels after more than 2 weeks to adjust the dosage accordingly. For homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
