Improvement of blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes
This medication is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. This helps to effectively improve blood sugar levels.
The recommended dose for this medication is 20 mg once daily for monotherapy or combination therapy. It can be taken regardless of meals. When administered with sulfonylureas, a reduction in the sulfonylurea dose may be considered to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia. No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with renal impairment. No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment.

Individuals with arrhythmias or prolonged QT intervals should avoid using this medication. Acute pancreatitis symptoms may arise; if abdominal pain or vomiting persist, immediate medical attention should be sought.
