Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or other components. It is not appropriate for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, or type 1 diabetes. It is also advisable not to administer it to patients with severe infections, pre-and post-surgery, or those who have suffered severe trauma. It should be used cautiously in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction or heart failure, particularly in cases of severe heart failure where it is not recommended. Patients at risk for hypoglycemia conditions or diseases, such as pituitary dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, malnutrition, irregular eating, vigorous exercise, and excessive alcohol consumption, should be closely monitored. Patients with a history of abdominal surgery or bowel obstruction should also be careful when using this medication. It is advisable to avoid use in patients with diseases that may affect heart rhythm or those with QT interval prolongation. Symptoms of acute pancreatitis may appear; if abdominal pain or vomiting persists, immediate medical attention is required. Hypoglycemic symptoms may occur while using this medication, especially when used with hypoglycemic agents like insulin or sulfonylureas, increasing the risk of hypoglycemia. Immediate treatment is necessary if hypoglycemic symptoms occur, such as consuming foods containing sugar. Adverse effects such as liver dysfunction, interstitial pneumonia, and skin blisters or erosions similar to pemphigus may occur, and immediate consultation with a professional is required if symptoms arise. The safety of this medication has not been established for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and consultation with a doctor is essential before use. Its safety and efficacy have not been confirmed in children, so it is best not to use it in that population. Elderly patients should be closely monitored due to potential physical decline. In the event of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment and monitoring based on symptoms are necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it is safer not to transfer it to other containers. Patients should understand hypoglycemic symptoms and how to respond while taking this medication and should exercise caution when driving or performing tasks at heights.
