Patients before and during administration of this medication must strictly adhere to the standard cholesterol-lowering diet. In adults, the initial dosage is Pitavastatin Calcium 1 to 2 milligrams once daily. Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to those allergic to its components, those with severe liver disease, muscle disorders, pregnant or nursing women, and children. Particular caution should be taken when using this medication in patients with liver or kidney dysfunction. Patients with impaired liver function should reduce the dosage, and those with decreased kidney function should stop taking the medication immediately if symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness occur. Additionally, because this medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, individuals with liver impairment must regularly undergo liver function tests. If liver dysfunction is detected, the medication may need to be discontinued. This medication may affect muscles, potentially leading to severe muscle disorders such as muscle pain, muscle weakness, or rhabdomyolysis, so any muscle-related symptoms should be reported immediately. Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, or hives may occur, so if such symptoms appear, it is necessary to stop the medication and consult a physician. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly when taken with cyclosporine, fibrate medications, niacin, or erythromycin. Using these medications together may severely impair kidney function. Elderly patients may experience more pronounced side effects, thus requiring careful monitoring and possible dosage adjustments. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should not take this medication, as it may be harmful to the fetus. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children, so it is not used in this population. During treatment, regular blood tests and liver function tests are necessary, and if there is no therapeutic effect, the medication should be discontinued. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container for safety.
