Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis or conjunctivitis, fungal eye infections, or ocular tuberculosis. It should also be avoided in patients with untreated purulent infections, hypersensitivity to this medication, or damaged corneal epithelium. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with glaucoma or children, and long-term or high-dose use should consider the potential for side effects such as adrenal suppression. While using this medication, various adverse reactions such as allergic reactions, headache, increased intraocular pressure, cataracts, eye infections, visual disturbances, eye pain, itching, and rash may occur, so immediate consultation with a physician is required if symptoms appear. Using this medication on a red eye without physician diagnosis poses a risk of blindness, so it must be used under the guidance of a specialist. Regular intraocular pressure and lens examinations are necessary during long-term use, and immediate evaluations should occur if blurred vision or disturbances occur. Patients with a history of herpes simplex require regular checks to prevent deterioration of corneal disease while using this medication. This medication may exacerbate untreated acute purulent infections, so if an infection is suspected, usage should be discontinued and the physician consulted. Contact lens wearers should remove lenses before administering the drops and can reinsert them at least 15 minutes after application. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, the use of this medication should be stopped, and consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. This medication may temporarily blur vision, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery until vision is clear. If infected with chickenpox or measles, severe complications may arise, so immunization status and medical history should be reviewed, and precautions for infection prevention should be considered. Long-term use of this medication may lead to serious eye conditions such as increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, and corneal melting, making regular intraocular pressure checks necessary. Prolonged use may delay wound healing and systemic side effects such as suppression of pituitary and adrenal function should also be considered. If irritation or abnormal symptoms occur during use, it should be stopped immediately, and prolonged continuous use is not advisable. This medication can interact with other drugs, particularly with those that increase intraocular pressure or specific enzyme inhibitors, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication carefully, and those who are breastfeeding should consider stopping the drug or breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy in infants and children have not been adequately established, so caution is required in use. The elderly may have reduced physiological function, so they should be particularly cautious when using this medication. In case of overdose, serious problems do not arise immediately, but in cases of unintended overdose, drinking a lot of water to dilute is recommended. This medication should only be used as eye drops, and care should be taken to prevent contamination by avoiding contact of the container opening with the eye or any other surface. Additionally, this medication should not be shared, stored in a cool and dry place out of reach of children, and should not be transferred to another container.
