This medication helps improve cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It lowers total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol and increases the levels of good cholesterol, HDL cholesterol. It can effectively regulate lipid levels when used alongside dietary interventions and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases due to dyslipidemia. Before using this drug, it's important to rule out other causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism and treat them if necessary. It also aids in starting treatment after lipid testing in patients with acute coronary events. Overall, it is used to improve abnormal cholesterol and lipid levels.

Particularly, patients with acute infections, hypotension, major surgery or trauma, or metabolic disorders should temporarily halt or discontinue this medication. It is not to be administered to those allergic to its ingredients, patients with severe liver dysfunction, muscle diseases, pregnant or nursing women, or those taking certain other medications.
