This medication helps lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, and increases HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is primarily used in conjunction with dietary therapy and is administered when dietary therapy alone is insufficient. Additionally, this medication may be considered for the prevention of atherosclerotic vascular disease in patients at high cardiovascular risk. However, some studies on certain types of dyslipidemia are limited, so a professional diagnosis and management are necessary. Before treatment, secondary causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism should be verified, and appropriate testing must be performed. This medication is used to improve patients' lipid levels and enhance cardiovascular health.
