This medication is used to improve serum cholesterol and lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Specifically, it helps lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol to balance serum lipid levels. This medication is used in conjunction with appropriate dietary therapy and is administered when there is inadequate response to other non-drug treatments. It also considers risk factors to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases due to hypercholesterolemia, and identifies and treats secondary causes of dyslipidemia. Regular lipid testing is recommended to accurately assess the patient's lipid status. This medication is used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
