This medication is used in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to help lower levels of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. It is used in conjunction with dietary measures and is administered augmentatively when response to other non-drug treatments is inadequate. This medication is suitable for individuals at risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease, and other causes of dyslipidemia must be confirmed before use. Additionally, it is important to periodically manage treatment efficacy and status through lipid testing. Thus, this medication is used to improve blood lipid levels and support cardiovascular health.
