Adult dosage

This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage range is 10/10mg to 10/40mg per day. The recommended initial dosage is either 10/10mg or 10/20mg per day. In patients requiring greater reductions in LDL cholesterol, the dosage may be adjusted. After initiation of therapy or adjustment of dosage, blood lipid levels should be checked after an interval of at least two weeks, and the dosage should be adjusted according to the results.

This medication can rarely cause a condition called rhabdomyolysis, which results in muscle tissue damage and severe kidney problems. Therefore, if sudden muscle pain or weakness occurs, medical attention should be sought immediately. Patients with muscle disorders or liver function issues, and those taking specific medications should inform their doctor and take special caution before using this medication. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not take this medication, and women of childbearing age should use appropriate contraception while taking this medication. This medication can affect liver function, so regular liver function tests should be performed before and during treatment, and if any symptoms of liver dysfunction occur, medical attention should be obtained immediately. Blood sugar levels may increase during the use of this medication; therefore, diabetic patients should manage their blood sugar levels thoroughly and consult with their doctor if any sudden changes occur. The risk of muscle damage may increase when taken with certain antibiotics, antiviral drugs, antifungals, etc.; hence, any other medications being taken should be disclosed. Symptoms such as dizziness or headaches may occur, so caution is recommended when driving or operating machinery. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been fully established in children and the elderly; therefore, special caution is necessary when used in these populations. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment and supportive therapy, and additional liver and muscle-related tests should be conducted. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers, as this can affect the quality and safety of the medication.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral or ocular mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe and general malaise, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination difficulties

This medication may be sensitive to air and moisture; therefore, it should be stored in a sealed container. It is best to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This will help ensure the medication's efficacy safely.
