This medication is used as an adjunct to diet to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, and to raise HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It may also be applicable to patients at high risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia, and its effectiveness is maximized when used in conjunction with an appropriate diet. It is important to identify secondary causes of dyslipidemia and provide necessary treatments before administration. Regular lipid tests should be conducted to monitor therapeutic effects, especially after an acute coronary event, where rapid lipid testing is recommended. This medication helps manage dyslipidemia and improve vascular health.
