This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and to increase HDL-cholesterol levels. It is especially administered to patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia when other lipid-lowering therapies are not suitable or feasible. Risk factors related to vascular diseases must be considered, and this medication is used when dietary and non-pharmacological treatment is insufficient. Before treatment, secondary causes such as diabetes or hypothyroidism should be assessed and treated if necessary. During therapy, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels should be regularly monitored to manage the condition. This medication is used for the effective management of dyslipidemia.
