This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. It is especially effective in patients at high risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease, and it is important to use it in combination with appropriate dietary management. Before administering this medication, any secondary causes of dyslipidemia should be identified and treated, and regular lipid tests are required to confirm treatment effects. Therefore, this medication is used for improving hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
