Relief of obesity, edema, constipation, and symptoms accompanying hypertension (e.g., palpitations)
This medication is used to improve conditions such as obesity and edema associated with high blood pressure symptoms like palpitations, shoulder stiffness, and flushing, particularly when accompanied by abdominal fat and constipation. These symptoms may be interrelated, so it is important to alleviate them through overall health management.
Usually, adults take 2 tablets per dose 3 times daily before meals or between meals (between mealtimes).
This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the rhubarb component may induce uterine contractions, increasing the risk of preterm labor or miscarriage. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication, as some components of rhubarb may be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. Individuals with allergies to soybean oil, soy, peanuts, or those who have previously exhibited hypersensitivity should not take this medication. During treatment, do not take other laxatives, as this may exacerbate diarrhea symptoms. Patients with high blood pressure or issues with heart or kidney function, as well as those with edema, should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Elderly patients may need to take this medication at a reduced dosage due to potentially weakened bodily functions. Patients taking other medications or suffering from diarrhea, loose stool, or weak stomach should also consult a professional before use. Patients with appetite loss, nausea, or vomiting should be cautious, as symptoms may worsen with this medication. Patients with severely weakened health, those experiencing excessive sweating, individuals with a history of heart disease, urinary disorders, or hyperthyroidism should also seek advice before taking this medication. If there have been previous allergy reactions such as rashes, redness, or itching from this medication or similar drugs, caution is advised. Diabetic patients should consult a healthcare professional before taking this drug, as the ephedra component may raise blood sugar levels. This medication contains a dye (Yellow No. 5), and caution is advised for individuals who are allergic to this ingredient. Patients with issues in fat metabolism or history of hyperlipidemia, pancreatitis, etc., should use this medication with care. If symptoms of aldosterone syndrome (edema, increased blood pressure, headache, etc.), muscle weakness, gastrointestinal abnormalities, rash, or symptoms related to the autonomic nervous system (insomnia, excessive sweating, etc.) occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If symptoms do not improve after one month of use, stop taking the medication and seek advice from a healthcare professional. It is generally recommended not to use this medication for an extended period, and if long-term use is necessary, consulting a healthcare professional is imperative. Irritant laxatives can lose their efficacy and worsen constipation if used for extended periods, so continuous use for more than one week is not recommended. Always adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration method, as the efficacy of rhubarb may vary by individual. When taking with other herbal medicines, ensure avoidance of overlap in ingredients, especially with products containing rhubarb. Using concurrently with ma huang, MAO inhibitors, thyroid medications, catecholamines, or xanthine drugs may cause side effects such as insomnia, rapid heart rate, excessive sweating, and palpitations, thus requiring careful dosage adjustment and monitoring. Taking potassium supplements, glycyrrhizic components, and diuretics together may lead to hypokalemia or muscle weakness, so caution is advised. Patients with fat metabolism issues should regularly check their blood lipid levels while adjusting the dosage of this medication and consider lipid levels when using other lipid-injectable medications. Store this medication away from direct sunlight, in a dry and cool place, and keep it out of reach of children. Preserve the medicine in its original container and avoid transferring it to another container, as this helps maintain quality.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in an airtight container to prevent exposure to air and moisture, preferably at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will help maintain its efficacy for a longer period.
