View approved original text

This medication is used to assist in the dietary management and exercise regimen for improving blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be initiated as a monotherapy and, in cases where no prior diabetes medication therapy has been administered or where blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy, it may be used in conjunction with Metformin. Additionally, it is combined with sulfonylureas, Metformin, thiazolidinediones, insulin, and other monotherapy medications to enhance therapeutic effects when blood sugar control is difficult. This medication can also be added to treatment when blood sugar control is insufficient despite combination therapy. Thus, it supports blood sugar management at various treatment stages and enhances overall blood sugar control.
