This medicine is used to supply selenium to patients with selenium deficiency that cannot be sufficiently supplemented by nutrition alone, treating the deficiency state.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 film once daily (100μg of selenium), with a maximum of 2 films (200μg of selenium) daily. Do not chew or swallow this medicine; allow it to dissolve slowly in the mouth.

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medicine or its components. Also, infants under 12 months old or individuals who already have selenium toxicity should not take this medicine. It should not be taken with reducing agents like vitamin C. If vitamin C must be taken, it should be taken at least 4 hours apart from this medicine. Individuals with heart or circulatory diseases or poor kidney function, as well as those with low protein levels, must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should also consult a professional before taking this medicine. Additionally, breastfeeding women need to consult before taking this medicine. Caution is advised for individuals with gastrointestinal diseases such as peptic ulcers or chronic colitis and children under 12 years old. If symptoms do not improve after about a month of taking this medicine, stop taking it and consult a doctor. If symptoms such as dermatitis, increased body odor, hair loss, anxiety, or vomiting occur, stop taking immediately and consult a professional. In case of overdose, symptoms may include a garlic-like odor from the mouth, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, and long-term excessive intake may affect nail or hair growth and lead to neuropathy. In the case of overdose, gastric lavage, diuresis, or high-dose vitamin C may be necessary, and in severe cases, dialysis treatment may be required. Certain antidotes may worsen toxicity and should therefore not be used. This medicine must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and method, and when administered to children, supervision by an adult is necessary. Moreover, it is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins such as green tea or black tea during or before/after taking this medicine. This medicine should be kept out of reach of children, stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The medicine must be kept in its original container tightly closed, as transferring it to another container may deteriorate its quality or cause accidents during use.
