Precautions

This medicine acts by dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. Therefore, it is essential to confirm whether any nitrate preparations or NO donors are being taken before using this medication. Taking these drugs together may lead to dangerously low blood pressure. Patients with heart or vascular issues must check their cardiovascular status before using this medication. There is a risk of increased cardiac stress during sexual activity for patients with cardiovascular disease. This medication may temporarily lower blood pressure; thus, patients with hypotension or those having difficulty managing blood pressure should avoid or use it cautiously. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours (priapism), seek medical help immediately, as failure to treat may cause damage to penile tissue. Patients with specific heart conditions, difficulty managing blood pressure, severely impaired liver or kidney function, individuals under 18, and women should not take this medication. As this medication is metabolized in the liver and kidneys, patients with impaired liver or kidney function should use lower doses, and elderly patients are advised to start with a lower initial dose. Visual disturbances or dizziness may occur during driving or operating machinery while using this medication, so caution is advised. Taking this medication with other drugs, especially CYP3A4 inhibitors or certain antibiotics, and HIV treatments may increase its blood concentration, heightening the risk of side effects; consultation with a doctor is necessary. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication, and its use is prohibited in children and adolescents. Overdose may exacerbate symptoms like headache, flushing, dizziness, and dyspepsia, so the prescribed dose must be strictly followed. This drug is meant for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and is not an aphrodisiac or stimulant; it does not have a sexually transmitted disease prevention effect.
