Precautions

This medication is a topical anesthetic with lidocaine as its main ingredient and is used to relieve pain by applying it to the skin. If children or pets chew or swallow this medication, serious side effects may occur, and it should be stored and disposed of out of reach of children and animals. When applying this medication to large areas or using it for more than 12 hours, excessive absorption of lidocaine may occur, leading to serious adverse reactions, so recommended dosages and application times must be strictly observed. Those with allergies to lidocaine or amide-type local anesthetics should not use this medication. This medication contains sodium pyrosulfite, which may trigger allergic reactions or asthma attacks, so caution is necessary for asthma patients or those with a history of allergies. Local skin reactions such as blisters, rashes, itching, and redness may occur at the site of application, but most are temporary and mild. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as angioedema, breathing difficulties, or shock may occur, so consult a healthcare professional immediately if any abnormal symptoms appear. Using an excessive amount can affect the central nervous system, leading to serious side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, seizures, and loss of consciousness, so caution is needed. Patients with severely impaired liver function are at risk of elevated serum levels due to improper metabolism of lidocaine, so consultation with a doctor is essential before use. Avoid using this medication on damaged or infected skin, and take care to prevent contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. Caution is needed if using this medication in conjunction with other local anesthetics or specific antiarrhythmic medications, as it may increase toxicity. Pregnant or nursing women should consult with a doctor before using this medication and should only use it restrictively when necessary. Safety and efficacy in children are not established, so the use in children should be approached with caution. After use, wash hands thoroughly, and safely discard used patches by folding them away and disposing of them in a location inaccessible to children or pets. If allergic to propylene glycol contained in this medication, consult with a healthcare professional before use.
