This medication is used for patients requiring treatment for hypertension and dyslipidemia. The combination of amlodipine and losartan is applicable for patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control or when a combination is needed to reach treatment goals in Stage 2 hypertension. Meanwhile, the combination of atorvastatin and ezetimibe helps improve cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia and reduces the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease. This medication should be used alongside an appropriate diet, and other conditions or secondary causes require treatment if necessary. Thus, it is used to effectively improve hypertension and dyslipidemia.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Caution is required when administering to patients with reduced blood volume as hypotension may occur upon initiation. Patients with a risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis must inform their physician immediately if symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness occur during treatment. This medication should not be taken by individuals with hypersensitivity to any of its components or those with specific liver or kidney diseases. Elderly patients or those with very low blood pressure, as well as patients with hyperkalemia should take this medication with caution and require regular blood tests. Since this medication may affect liver function, patients with hepatic impairment should undergo liver function tests before and during treatment. As this medication includes statin components, muscle-related adverse reactions may occur; hence, if severe muscle pain or weakness develops, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. Due to blood pressure-lowering effects, dizziness or fainting may occur; caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. There is a potential for drug interactions when using this medication with other antihypertensive agents or lipid-lowering drugs, so consultation with a physician is essential before use. Patients with lactose intolerance should not take this medication, and women of childbearing age must use adequate contraception while on this medication.
