This medication is used for primary hyperlipidemia, specifically hypercholesterolemia (Type IIa) and combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb, Type III), as well as hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV).

How to take

Adult dose

As Fenofibrate, take 145 mg orally once daily without regard to meals, but dietary management must be followed. This medication may have reduced absorption on an empty stomach, so it should be taken immediately after meals (except for the 145 mg formulation).

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with impaired liver function. It should also not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment, and should be used cautiously in patients with mild renal impairment by reducing the dose or increasing the dosing interval. It is safe for pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, and women who are breastfeeding to avoid taking this medication. Those with allergies to this medication or its ingredients should avoid it, and caution is needed for patients with gallbladder disease or gallstones. This medication is not used in children. Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, oral or ocular mucosal pain, severe skin abnormal reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory distress with cough and fever, respiratory problems, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden onset.

Mild side effects

Increased serum aminotransferase levels, liver enlargement, cholestatic hepatitis, gallstones, rash, itching, photosensitivity reactions, hair loss, weakness, high temperature, dizziness, headache, peripheral neuropathy, thrombosis, muscle pain, muscle cramps, joint pain, gastrointestinal disturbances (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal bloating), seizures, hemoglobin reduction, white blood cell reduction, eosinophilia, increased serum creatinine and urea, eosinophilic pneumonia, ventricular tachycardia.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Storage

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a longer period.
