Precautions
Caution is required as administering more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A per day to women within the first three months of pregnancy or who may become pregnant can increase the risk of congenital malformations. Patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, kidney disease, or allergic to this medication or its components, as well as those with a history of kidney stones should not take this medication. Levodopa should not be taken concurrently with this medication. Infants under 1 year of age, patients receiving medical treatment, children with ample sunlight exposure and normal diet, patients with hyperoxaluria, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, gout patients, and those with a history of kidney stones must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms like nausea, vomiting, itching, dry skin, joint pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, rash, menstrual changes, or bleeding occur during the course, usage should be discontinued immediately and a specialist should be consulted. In particular, women taking oral contraceptives containing estrogen or patients at risk of thrombosis should be cautious as there may be an increased risk of thrombosis with vitamin E supplementation. Long-term high-dose use may lead to tolerance, and excessive intake of pyridoxine (vitamin B6) can cause neurological disorders. High-dose use may cause peptic ulcers, glucose metabolism disorders, hyperuricemia, and liver damage; post-menopausal women are at increased risk for osteoporosis. If an overdose occurs or symptoms do not improve after more than one month of use, consult a specialist immediately. Follow the prescribed dosage and administration guidelines when taking; it should be administered to children under adult supervision. As vitamin A is sufficiently supplied through a normal diet, make sure not to exceed 5,000 IU as a supplement. This medication may affect blood glucose measurements during urine tests and may change the urine color to yellow, affecting test results. When storing, keep in a sealed container to protect from air and moisture. A storage temperature of 1 to 30 degrees Celsius is recommended to maintain room temperature.
