Improvement of blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes
This medication assists in controlling blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes by complementing dietary and exercise therapy. It can be used alone or in combination with other treatments for tailored patient care. This helps effectively manage blood glucose levels.
This medication is administered once daily at a dose of 100 mg, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. It can be taken regardless of meals. In cases of renal impairment, dosage adjustments may be necessary. - For mild renal impairment (eGFR 60-90 mL/min/1.73 m2) and moderate renal impairment (eGFR 45-60 mL/min/1.73 m2), dosage adjustment is not required.
This medication may cause allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. While taking this medication, there is a risk of developing serious pancreatic inflammation known as pancreatitis; therefore, if symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or loss of appetite occur, inform healthcare professionals immediately. This medication should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with decreased kidney function may need dosage adjustments, and regular kidney function tests are recommended. While taking this medication, side effects such as cold symptoms, headache, indigestion, and diarrhea may occur; consult a physician if symptoms are severe or persistent. When taken with other blood glucose-lowering drugs, especially insulin or sulfonylureas, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase, so blood glucose levels should be monitored closely. If severe joint pain or skin blistering occurs, discontinue use immediately and inform healthcare professionals. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to take this medication, and safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may have decreased kidney function, so dosage adjustments and regular kidney function tests are necessary. In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment, as some medications can be removed by dialysis.
Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, anaphylaxis, exfoliative skin conditions (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome), severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, acute pancreatitis (hemorrhagic or necrotizing), shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough with fever, skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice)

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to keep out air. The recommended storage temperature is between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This helps maintain the effectiveness of the medication for a long time.
