Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with primary glaucoma or those at risk of increased intraocular pressure. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients should also avoid using it. It is not recommended for children under 4 years of age. Particular caution is advised for patients with Down syndrome, brain damage, spastic paralysis, prostate enlargement, bladder dysfunction, or acute pulmonary edema. Additionally, patients sensitive to belladonna alkaloids or those who have had severe reactions to atropine, as well as those hypersensitive to anticholinergic drugs, should be vigilant. Long-term use of this medication may lead to inflammation, congestion, or swelling of the eyes, and in severe cases, may result in respiratory suppression and low blood pressure. There have been reports of coma or severe side effects in children. If allergic conjunctivitis or eyelid inflammation occurs, discontinue use immediately, as there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure. Side effects may include elevated blood pressure, palpitations, hallucinations, seizures, nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Particularly in children, psychotic reactions, behavioral changes, and high fever may occur, which necessitates extra caution. During the use of this medication, driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided, and wearing sunglasses is advisable as it may increase sensitivity to bright light. Care should be taken to prevent contact with the skin or mouth of children, and hands should be washed thoroughly after use. After instilling the medication, it is recommended to block the tear duct to reduce systemic absorption. Elderly patients or those at risk of glaucoma should have their intraocular pressure and eye condition checked before use, considering the possibility of increased intraocular pressure. This medication may enhance the effects when used with other anticholinergic drugs, so caution is required with concomitant use. If pregnant or breastfeeding, it should only be used when necessary, as the effects on the fetus or neonate are not well understood, requiring careful consideration. Premature infants, low birth weight infants, and children with Down syndrome or brain damage, or those with spastic paralysis, are particularly sensitive to the side effects of this drug, necessitating great caution. In case of overdose, symptoms may include flushed face, dry mouth, blurred vision, and rapid heartbeat. In severe cases, seizures or coma may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. This medication is for ophthalmic use only; care should be taken to avoid contact of the container with the eye and to avoid sharing. Store this medication in a sealed container to prevent air exposure and keep it at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the drug's efficacy.
