This medication is used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss and female pattern hair loss, i.e., androgenetic alopecia. It comes in 2%, 3%, and 5% formulations depending on concentration, each providing corresponding therapeutic effects. It helps improve the hair condition of those suffering from hair loss and slows down the progression of hair loss. Thus, it contributes to alleviating hair loss symptoms and maintaining healthy hair.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

(Gel formulation) After completely drying hair and scalp, apply 0.5 to 1 g of this medication twice a day (morning and evening), for at least 4 months, on the affected area only. The total daily dosage should not exceed 2 g. Precautions

This medication is not recommended for female patients, especially at the 5% concentration. Children under 18 years of age and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also avoid using it. Individuals with heart or blood pressure-related diseases may be at health risk if using this medication. Do not use if there is inflammation, infection, irritation on the scalp, or sudden hair loss. It is advisable not to use this medication if already using other scalp treatments or shaving the scalp. Do not use this medication simultaneously with topical corticosteroids or vasodilators, particularly avoiding combinations with medications that may affect blood pressure. Elderly people over 55 years old or those with edema or thyroid dysfunction should consult a specialist before use. If symptoms such as skin itching, rash, palpitations, or shortness of breath occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a specialist. This medication should be used only on the scalp; excessive use or application on other areas can cause systemic side effects. If there are wounds or severe inflammation on the scalp, increased absorption may heighten the risk of side effects, hence caution is advised. After use, wash hands thoroughly and avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. This medication is flammable; do not keep it near heat sources, and store it out of reach of children. Also, keep this medication in its original container to prevent degradation of quality or misuse.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mouth/eyes mucosa, breathlessness or difficulty in breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, changes in urine output.
