This medication is an adjunct therapy used together with dietary changes to lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing HDL cholesterol, which is the good cholesterol. In particular, this medication should be used in conjunction with appropriate dietary control, including restrictions on saturated fats and cholesterol, and is applied when dietary changes alone are insufficient. Moreover, various risk factors must be considered to safely administer this medication to patients at risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is important to verify secondary causes of dyslipidemia before treatment and address them if necessary. Regular monitoring of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels is required during treatment to ensure proper management. This medication helps reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases related to hypercholesterolemia, thereby improving vascular health.
