This medicine is used as an adjunct to diet to improve cholesterol and other lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, particularly heterozygous familial and non-familial hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It helps reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, and increase HDL cholesterol. This drug may contribute to reducing the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease in patients with dyslipidemia. However, lipid-lowering therapy must be performed in conjunction with dietary therapy and other non-drug treatments, considering other cardiovascular risk factors as well. Additionally, accurately diagnosing and managing secondary causes of dyslipidemia is important. This drug is used to effectively improve lipid abnormalities associated with hypercholesterolemia.
