Vitamin D plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of bones and teeth during pregnancy, lactation, growth, and old age. A deficiency of Vitamin D can result in inadequate bone growth or skeletal disorders like rickets, so it is used to prevent these issues. Additionally, when there is a lack of calcium, Vitamin D helps with the absorption of calcium, aiding in the improvement of bone health. Therefore, Vitamin D is particularly beneficial for strengthening bones and teeth and maintaining normal skeletal function.

Patients under treatment, children receiving significant sunlight exposure and normal diets, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, and infants must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Caution is needed as Vitamin D can be secreted in breast milk and may cause hypercalcemia in newborns. Patients with heart and circulatory issues, kidney obstruction, hypoalbuminemia, those receiving cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones should also consult before use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur, stop taking the drug immediately and consult a professional. Overdosage may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema, so caution is necessary. Long-term use may result in hypercalcemia or kidney stones; regular monitoring is essential. Additionally, using it with certain diuretics may cause hyperkalemia, so care should be taken. Ensure the dosage is followed exactly, and children should take it under the supervision of a guardian. It is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, during or immediately before and after taking this medication.
