View approved original text

This drug is used to assist meal and exercise therapy to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Patients initiating treatment may use this drug alone, and if blood sugar control is insufficient with monotherapy, it can be taken in conjunction with metformin. Additionally, in cases where blood sugar control is challenging with monotherapy using sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this drug can be co-administered to enhance therapeutic effects. If blood sugar control is still inadequate despite using multiple medications, this drug can be added to the treatment regimen. Thus, this drug improves blood sugar control in various situations, aiding in the management of diabetes.
