Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used together with dietary and exercise therapy to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone, and if blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy and the patient has no prior experience with diabetes medication, it may be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, when blood sugar control is insufficient with sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin monotherapies, this medication can be added to strengthen blood sugar management. If adequate blood sugar control is not achieved with the combination of two or more medications, this medication can be added for effective blood sugar improvement. Therefore, this medication is flexibly utilized in various treatment situations to improve blood sugar control in patients.
