View approved original text

This medication helps patients with type 2 diabetes to effectively control their blood sugar levels. It can be administered alone while combining with diet and exercise, and is initiated as monotherapy during early treatment. If a patient has never used diabetes medications and finds it difficult to control blood sugar with monotherapy, it can be used in combination with metformin. Furthermore, if there is insufficient effect with monotherapy of sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can be added for combination therapy. Additionally, it can be used in combination when treatment with two or more medications is not sufficient for blood sugar control, allowing for personalized treatment for patients. It is used to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
