Vitamin D is a nutrient necessary during pregnancy, lactation, growth, and old age, helping healthy bone and teeth development and effective in preventing rickets. It also improves calcium deficiency issues and helps in adequate calcium supply, strengthening bones. Therefore, this medication is used to enhance bone health and prevent bone diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily.

Child dose

For children aged 8 years and older, take 1 tablet once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be used for patients with hypercalcemia, obscure systemic inflammatory diseases, or kidney diseases. People with allergies to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months old, those with kidney stones, and severe renal failure patients should also refrain from taking this medication. Furthermore, this medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic disorders that prevent lactose breakdown or absorption should avoid it. During treatment, it is advised not to take phosphate, calcium salts, certain antibiotics like tetracycline, and antacids simultaneously. Patients receiving medical treatment, children with high exposure to sunlight, women who are pregnant or nursing, premature and infant babies, individuals with heart or circulatory diseases, kidney disorders, hypoalbuminemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones should consult a professional before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Overdose may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, cardiac issues, and edema, and prolonged use may cause elevated calcium concentration in the blood or kidney stones, which requires caution. Particularly, caution is needed when taken with certain diuretics, as it may raise blood potassium levels. Adhere strictly to the dosage, and ensure that children take this under guardian supervision. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid tannin-containing teas such as green tea and black tea before and after taking this medication. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight in a tightly sealed container. To maintain quality, it is important not to transfer to other containers.
