Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. While using, symptoms such as nausea, cold sensations in the limbs, and shortness of breath may rarely occur, in which case use should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Hypersensitivity reactions may lead to angioedema, difficulty breathing, rash, and itching, so usage should be terminated immediately if these symptoms occur. Transient burning, irritation, redness, itching, tearing, blurred vision may occur; in severe cases, serious skin reactions like keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, so use should be discontinued if these symptoms appear. Hearing impairment or taste disturbances may occur rarely, so caution is advised if abnormal symptoms arise. This medication carries a risk of tendon inflammation or rupture, particularly in the elderly or when used with steroids, and if tendon pain or inflammation develops, usage should be stopped immediately. To prevent the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, sensitivity tests for the infecting bacteria should be performed, and it should be used only for the minimum necessary duration. Long-term use may lead to the proliferation of non-susceptible organisms such as fungi, thus long-term usage should be avoided, and if another infection is suspected, treatment should be switched immediately after discontinuation. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and breastfeeding women should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication. Safety and effectiveness in children have not been sufficiently established, so it is advisable not to use it in this population. This medication is to be used only in the eyes, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact between the tip of the container and the eye. For single-use products, the first 1-2 drops should be discarded before use; to prevent contamination, avoid sharing, use immediately after opening, and discard any remaining solution. When stored, keep it out of reach of children, in a cool place away from direct sunlight, and do not transfer to another container.
