This medication is used for patients who require simultaneous administration of telmisartan and rosuvastatin. Telmisartan treats essential hypertension while reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. In high-risk patients aged 55 and older, it specifically lowers the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death due to cardiovascular disease. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct in patients with hypercholesterolemia and combined hyperlipidemia when diet and exercise are inadequate, lowering total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels to delay the progression of atherosclerosis. It also benefits patients with familial hypercholesterolemia and abnormal beta-lipoproteinemia, and is effective in reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization in patients with a high risk of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, this medication is used to manage both hypertension and hyperlipidemia while reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
