How to take

Adult dose

Adults (15 years and older to under 80 years) take 2 tablets at a time. If necessary, may take 2 tablets every 4 hours up to 3 times a day. However, do not exceed 3 times a day (6 tablets).

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients undergoing dialysis treatment or those being treated for blood disorders, kidney and liver diseases, stomach and duodenal diseases, asthma, autoimmune diseases such as rheumatism. Patients taking steroids, antibiotics, anticancer drugs, or azole antifungals should also be cautious, as this medication may cause side effects such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia. Individuals with a history of blood disorders such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, or leukopenia should avoid this medication, as it may further reduce blood cell counts. Individuals who have had hypersensitivity reactions to histamine H2-receptor antagonists should not use this medication, as it may cause allergic reactions. Children under 15 years old and elderly individuals over 80 are not established as safe for this medication, and particularly the elderly should be cautious as decreased kidney function can lead to increased drug accumulation and worse side effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and nursing mothers, have not been confirmed for this medication's safety, and breast milk may also carry the medication, hence nursing should be discontinued during use. It is advisable not to take other gastrointestinal medications concurrently while on this medication to avoid excessively strong effects that may lead to unexpected side effects. While taking this medication, drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion may occasionally occur, so dangerous activities such as driving or operating machinery should be avoided. Also, alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking this medication, as alcohol may increase drug concentration in the body, raising the risk of side effects. If you are taking other medications or receiving medical treatment, you must consult with a healthcare professional, as there may be interactions with this medication. Particularly, when taken with bronchodilators, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, antihypertensive medications, calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmic medications, specific antibiotics, and antimicrobials, drug concentrations may rise and side effects may occur. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions to medications, elderly individuals, patients with sore throat or cough, high fever, unexplained weight loss, or persistent abdominal pain, and individuals with a history of kidney disease should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms such as hives, swelling, chest tightness, pale face, cold extremities, clammy skin, or shortness of breath occur after taking this medication, discontinue and consult a physician immediately. Also, if severe rash, redness, blisters, or severe symptoms on mucous membranes of the mouth or eyes occur with high fever, or if allergic symptoms, constipation, diarrhea, headache, fever, malaise, weakness, or hematuria occur, notify a healthcare professional immediately. If symptoms do not improve after taking the medication for more than three days, seek medical attention as there may be another underlying condition. This medication should not be used for an extended period, and it should not be taken continuously for more than two weeks; the prescribed method and dosage must be strictly adhered to. In case of overdose, it is important to immediately stop taking the medication and consult a physician or pharmacist. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Transferring it to another container may lead to misuse or deterioration of quality, so caution is advised.
