View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy in patients with hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV), helping to reduce elevated triglyceride levels with monotherapy. Additionally, in patients with mixed hyperlipidemia (Type IIb) and high cholesterol along with high triglyceride levels, it effectively improves blood lipid levels when used in combination with statins. The therapeutic effect can also be enhanced in mixed patients with uncontrolled triglycerides through combination therapy with statins. Therefore, this medication plays an important role in treating hyperlipidemia, consistently controlling the patient's lipid levels.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be used only after proper lipid-lowering dietary therapy has been conducted before administration, continuing throughout the treatment period. Take this medication with meals. Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients allergic to its ingredients or by children under 18 years of age. Patients at high risk of bleeding due to severe trauma or surgery, those with impaired liver function, and patients allergic to fish should use this medication with caution. During treatment, various side effects such as dyspepsia, headaches, dizziness, and skin rashes may occur, and some patients have reported abnormal symptoms related to the heart or blood vessels. Before starting treatment, it is important to check triglyceride levels through blood tests, and to maintain weight control, dietary management, and exercise concurrently. Since this medication may affect blood coagulation, patients taking anticoagulants must monitor bleeding risks and be cautious of potential bleeding. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before use due to uncertain safety. Caution is needed for children and the elderly since the safety and effectiveness of this medication in these populations have not been sufficiently established. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be provided according to symptoms along with general supportive care. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to maintain quality and safety.
