Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Children's dosage

In particular, avoid prolonged use over large areas in young children.

Precautions

This medication should not be used on specific skin infections or areas at high risk of infection. For example, applying it to skin with bacterial infections such as tuberculosis or syphilis, or viral infections such as herpes zoster or herpes simplex may worsen symptoms. Additionally, individuals with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or its components should avoid its use. It is also advisable not to use it on inflamed or ulcerated areas with perforations in the ear, or on severe burn areas. Avoid using it if there is inflammation or skin disease around the mouth, during breastfeeding, on vaccination sites, on wounded skin, and on large areas. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, especially during the first three months of pregnancy, should use it with caution, and it should only be used on children or infants under parental supervision. Allergic reactions such as skin irritation, rash, redness, stinging, and swelling may occur, so usage should be immediately stopped if these symptoms arise. Long-term use on large areas or the application of occlusive dressings can cause side effects like skin thinning or vascular dilation. Applying this medication extensively or for prolonged periods can lead to systemic absorption, affecting hormonal function, so caution is advised. When used around the eyes, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma. Be sure to follow the prescribed dosage and application method, and discontinue use as soon as symptoms improve, switching to other medications if necessary. A treatment period of generally no more than 7 days is considered safe. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of contraceptive devices if used with latex condoms or vaginal rings, so caution is necessary. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult with a physician before using this medication, and they should especially avoid extensive or prolonged application. Pediatric patients have a larger skin surface area relative to body weight, which increases the risk of side effects such as hormonal suppression, so the minimal amount should be used, and situations where the medication may become occluded, such as with diaper use, should be especially monitored. In case of overdose, immediate gastric lavage must be performed, and this medication is for external use only and should never be ingested. Store the medication in a sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is best to keep it at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C.
