Precautions

This medication is an eye drop solution containing Epinastine Hydrochloride, used to relieve eye allergy symptoms. First of all, this medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to Epinastine or any of the excipients. There have been no specific studies in patients with impaired liver or kidney function, but existing data suggests that dosage adjustment is not necessary; however, it should be used cautiously. Mild adverse reactions such as a burning sensation or irritation in the eye may commonly occur while using this medication, and rarely symptoms like allergic conjunctivitis, eye itching, headache, and nasal irritation may arise. Additionally, this medication contains phosphate, and there is a very rare risk of corneal calcification occurring in patients with corneal damage, hence caution is needed. This medication is a topical eye drop for use in the eyes only and should never be injected or taken orally. Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation, so driving or operating machinery should be done only after vision is clear. To prevent contamination, avoid touching the tip of the dropper to other surfaces, and when using multiple eye drops, it is recommended to allow at least a 10-minute interval between them. Contact lenses should be avoided when the eyes are red, and this medication should not be used for the treatment of contact lens-related irritation. Unused solution should not be used after 1 month from opening. This medication is minimally absorbed systemically, thus the potential for interaction with other drugs is low; however, caution is advised when used in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is especially important for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to consult a doctor before using this medication. Severe toxic symptoms have not been reported in cases of overdose, but it is safe to adhere to the recommended dosage. Finally, the safety of this medication has not been established in children under 3 years of age, and its safety and efficacy have been confirmed in clinical trials for children aged 12 years and older.
