This medication is used for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections, specifically for the initial and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores.

How to apply

Adult use

This medication should be applied to the affected area five times a day at approximately four-hour intervals. Treatment should continue for five days, and if not healed after five days, it may be used for an additional five days.

Precautions

It is very important that this medication is not used in certain patients. Firstly, patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication or have experienced an allergic reaction to its components in the past should not take this medication. Additionally, it is safe to avoid administering this medication to breastfeeding women and children. Caution is especially necessary for immunocompromised patients, such as those with AIDS or bone marrow transplant recipients. This medication contains propylene glycol, which may also cause allergic reactions or hypersensitivity in some patients, requiring caution.
