Improvement of lipid levels in hypercholesterolemia (primary, mixed) and prevention of atherosclerotic vascular disease risk
This medication helps to reduce total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, as well as increase levels of HDL cholesterol, the good cholesterol. It is primarily used in conjunction with dietary changes and is administered when dietary modifications alone are insufficient. It is particularly effective in patients with a high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia. Prior to treatment, it is essential to confirm whether there are other causes, such as diabetes or hypothyroidism, and it is important to manage such conditions if necessary. During the treatment process, cholesterol and triglyceride levels should be regularly monitored to assess efficacy. This medication is used for the treatment of dyslipidemia.
This medication is taken once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage range is from 10/5 mg to 10/20 mg per day. A starting dose of 10/5 mg per day is recommended. For patients requiring a greater reduction of LDL-cholesterol, the dosage may be adjusted accordingly. After initiation of treatment or adjustment of the dosage, blood lipid levels should be checked at intervals of at least four weeks; the daily maximum dosage can be increased to 10/20 mg.
