View approved original text

This medication helps to reduce serum total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while simultaneously increasing good cholesterol HDL cholesterol levels. It is primarily used in conjunction with a diet that limits saturated fat and cholesterol intake, and is administered as an adjunctive therapy when improvements cannot be achieved with diet alone. Before using this medication, it is important to identify and treat any underlying diseases such as diabetes or hypothyroidism appropriately. Additionally, treatment efficacy should be evaluated based on blood lipid test results, and for patients who have experienced acute coronary events, lipid levels should be measured at the time of admission to establish an appropriate treatment plan. Thus, this medication is used to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases and improve blood lipid status.
