Precautions

This medication may affect liver function, and if symptoms of liver dysfunction or jaundice occur, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. This medication contains zinc, which may interfere with copper absorption, potentially leading to copper deficiency. Especially in patients with poor nutritional status, symptoms such as anemia or decreased blood cell count may occur, so caution is required. If skin rashes, itching, or hives as hypersensitivity reactions appear during the use of this medication, discontinue use immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, vomiting, abdominal distension, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur. If symptoms are severe, consult a physician. This medication may interact with other drugs; caution should be exercised, especially if taken concurrently with penicillamine or levothyroxine sodium, as the effectiveness may decrease. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this medication, and nursing mothers should avoid breastfeeding as the drug may be transmitted through breast milk. Safety for pediatric use has not been sufficiently established, so it is advisable not to use it in children. In the elderly, digestive function may be weak, so the dosage should be reduced or closely monitored during use.
