This medication is used when patients with essential hypertension experience difficulty in controlling their blood pressure. If sufficient blood pressure reduction is not achieved with telmisartan alone, this medication can be added to effectively control blood pressure and maintain it within the normal range. This helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications and improves overall health.

How to take

Adult dose

For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone, take once daily with water, irrespective of meals. It is recommended to adjust the dosage of each component according to individual needs before switching to this combination fixed-dose medication. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 40/12.5 mg is administered to patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with 40 mg of telmisartan.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years of age, so this medication should not be administered.

Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it may cause severe harm to the fetus. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients or with specific liver or kidney diseases should not take this medication. Elderly patients or those with high potassium levels or poor liver function should use this medication with caution. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, caution is needed as symptoms like excessively low blood pressure, dizziness, or fainting may occur.
