This medication helps relieve gastrointestinal dysfunction symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting associated with esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and inflammation and ulcers in the stomach and duodenum. It also improves symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon, reducing discomfort in the intestines. It is used in children to treat habitual vomiting or constipation and diarrhea due to non-infectious intestinal passage disorders. In summary, this drug effectively improves various gastrointestinal issues, enhancing the quality of life for patients.
As Trimethobutane Maleate, take 100-200 mg by mouth three times a day before meals. Adjust appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medication may affect the gastrointestinal tract and can rarely cause symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal sounds, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, and oral numbness. Rapid heart rate can also occur rarely. It may impact mental or neurological conditions, leading to fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headache, which are also rare. There is a possibility of affecting liver function, leading to elevated liver enzyme levels. Although rare, allergic reactions such as rashes may occur, and if such symptoms arise, the medication should be discontinued. The safety of this drug during pregnancy is not confirmed, and it should be used only when the benefits outweigh the risks in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Breastfeeding women should also avoid using this drug, as its safety has not been established, and if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Additionally, this drug contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance, certain genetic enzyme deficiencies, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should not take this medication.
