It also improves abdominal discomfort caused by irritable bowel syndrome or the spasmodic state of the intestines. In children, it is used to alleviate habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal pain and disturbances, such as constipation or diarrhea. It effectively improves a variety of digestive-related diseases and symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As trimethobutine maleate, take 100-200mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic disorder that prevents the digestion of lactose should not take it. While taking this medication, it is rare to experience symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, or numbness in the mouth. Additionally, symptoms related to the central nervous system, such as rapid heartbeat, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headache, may also be experienced rarely. Caution is necessary as it may affect liver function and there is a possibility of elevated liver enzyme levels. Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur, and should such symptoms arise, one must immediately discontinue use. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not assured, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks before using it. For breastfeeding women, since the safety of this medication has not been established, it is advisable to avoid its use, and if it must be taken, to stop breastfeeding.
