View approved original text

This medication helps lower elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It can be used alone to treat hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) and provides a combined therapeutic effect when used with statin medications for patients with a combination of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb). In particular, it helps improve blood lipid levels even when triglyceride levels are poorly controlled, when taken alongside statins. This aids in reducing cardiovascular risk and maintaining the health status of patients.

Adult dose

This medication should be preceded by and continued alongside an appropriate lipid-lowering diet during the treatment period. This drug should be taken with food to avoid gastrointestinal upset. Precautions

This drug should not be used by individuals with allergic reactions to any of its components or by children under 18 years of age. Patients at risk of severe bleeding or with liver function issues, and those with fish allergies should use this medication with caution. Various side effects such as indigestion, skin rash, dizziness, headaches, and joint pain may occur during treatment, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a doctor immediately. Before treatment begins, it is important to check blood triglyceride levels and to continue weight management and dietary measures. This medication may cause an increase in liver enzymes in some patients, so regular liver function tests are necessary. As it can affect blood coagulation, patients taking anticoagulants or aspirin should consult their doctor, as there may be an increased risk of bleeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult healthcare providers before taking this medication. Elderly patients may also use this drug, but extra caution is needed during administration. In case of overdose, seek appropriate treatment immediately at a medical institution. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and care should be taken not to transfer it to another container as this may deteriorate the quality.
